Government Engagement: Guam Green Growth Youth Ambassador Lead

Research Project: Detachable, Diagonal Trellis

#TrellisProject was a high school group project where my group and I pitched an idea to judges. Credit to my other group members darlenemdizonizzaebalo, Hilary Tirazona and Caila Cortez. We didn’t win the competition because we didn’t actually test the idea. I decided to test our project when Teddy Concepcion suggested to. CJ Paulino helped construct it, and @UOGseaGrant is helping me care for it!

The Idea behind #TrellisProject is to encourage home gardening using minimal supplies and space. With Guam importing over 95% of food, the trellis project serves to increase food security. Overtime, the trellis would also provide shade for the building- absorbing the sunlight and creating energy for the plant, acting as a natural heat protectant.

Dec 8, 2019- Bus Stop Cleanup

Helped my cousin clean the neighborhood park and bus stop this morning. Two questions: Why is it acceptable to find shards of glass, vodka and trash at a school bus stop? And what do we need to prevent littering?

We separated the aluminum cans from the rest of the materials. The aluminum cans will be sold at a recycling center. With approval from the store owners, the rest of the materials were disposed of at a nearby mom/pop store bin.
